Good Morning, Dave

Welcome to the August stop of the 2025 RPG Blog Carnival, it’s been a while but welcome back!
Before we get rolling, a quick shout out to last month’s host, Chaotican Writer, who gave us, Improv, Roleplay, and Warmups, be sure to check out the roundup post.
The title of this post says it all, this month we’re going to touch on the topic of AI and gaming.
Let’s face it, in today’s world, AI is rapidly pushing itself into nearly every nook and cranny of the internet and has started to “jump the shark” and show up in internet connected devices. Most of us see it in our daily lives with text suggestions when we write an email, text, or document, and I know that many, myself included, turn to the Chatbots and LLMs to get work accomplished for our day to day employment. My question for the month, are you using it in your gaming?
I know it’s not a stretch to include the ever present Computer of Star Trek or Skynet in a sci-fi based game and by all means if you have what you feel is an interesting take on this, what I think would be fascinating to share is the other ways that you’re using AI in your gaming, things like . . . . .
- Character backgrounds
- Plot and story lines
- Location descriptions
- Image generation
Or maybe you’re a purist and feel that AI shouldn’t be used at all. Feel free to share your thoughts on that.
I know this is pretty wide open, but I think it’s a conversation worth having. Everyone is talking about how AI is impacting the work force, how is it impacting your gaming?

To participate in the August RPG Blog Carnival, simply put together a post related to this topic and share a link to it in the comments below. At the end of the month, I’ll pull them all together in a round up post.
I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone shares.
May your dice roll well!
