March 2022 Blog Carnival: Blast from the Past Wrap-up
All things must come to an end and that includes our trip down memory lane and the RPG Carnivals of old. Be sure to visit the April RPG Carnival, Gods of the Multiverse.
While I would love to have a wrap-up full of posts, alas, that is not the case. I’d like to thank Mike over at Campaign Mastery for his contribution, Blind Alleys and Lost Treasures. It’s a fantastic post that touches on not just some of the great posts that we’ve seen over the years but also how he went about tracking down those posts by making use of the Wayback Machine. By the way, Mike has a similar post that’s in the same vein from 2017, The Past Revisited, you should check that post out as well.
While the number of contributions may have been low I did see an uptick in the amount of views the RPG Carnival home page and some of the related posts. I will take as a sign that there is still an ongoing interest in the Carnival. It also means that I need to get to work and fill in those missing links from days gone by – they’ll likely be from the Wayback Machine but if I can find the post I’ll add the link.
This blog, like many others, has seen it’s ups and downs but it continues to be here and there’s value still found in its posts and pages. When I look a the stats there are items from a decade ago that still see regular traffic, evergreen material, something that needs to be preserved and built upon.
The Carnival will continue on, the resources and materials it has created will live on somewhere and we can all do our part to make sure the next group of gamers can find them. I’ll be posting on that topic soon.
May your dice roll well!
